Last fall, CBS News joined TOMS Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie in Southern Ethiopia, a region where TOMS gives shoes to children at risk for a debilitating disease called Podoconiosis. The story recently reran on the CBS Sunday Morning News, which is the best major news shoe in covering and supporting the arts.
Watching the story, I am reminded once again of Stephen Covey's maxim, "There is no limit to the amount of good one turned on person can do." Here, the idea is simple. For every pair of shoes TOMS sells, it gives a pair away to someone who really needs shoes. Many have never had shoes in their lives with lifesaving results when they get them.
